CLIMBING IN ALL ITS FORMS
Caroline Minvielle perfectly embodies the essence of Karpos. An innate passion for climbing constantly pushes her to explore new horizons and new ways of experiencing the outdoors — all accompanied by a spirit that is “wild” but always clean, elegant, and smiling.
BIOGRAPHY
Caroline, originally from the Pyrenees in France, defines herself above all as a climbing enthusiast. After training as an engineer and working for several years as a climbing gear designer, she decided to venture into the world of teaching and become a climbing instructor in order to pass on her knowledge and share the passion that drives her.
She officially began climbing at the age of six, when she started her first bouldering classes. Before that she climbed on anything that was close to vertical: trees, walls, boulders, and even her crib! The outdoors and natural rock are the source of her greatest aspirations, but Caroline does not object to long indoor sessions either.
Outdoors, the playground is infinite and the rock always has new subtleties to offer and new puzzles to decode, which fuels her desire to practice outdoor climbing in its all forms, from bouldering to traditional climbing. This passion is the foundation for her achievements. For example, she did the first female ascent of “El Topo” in the Verdon Gorges — a 300-meter wall with an 8a sequence on the 13th pitch — and other multipitch routes in the 8th degree, and “El sendero Luminoso” in Mexico — a 600-meter wall with slab difficulties up to 7c — that she onsighted in a day. Caroline loves going on an adventure on these huge walls as much as trying to push her limits on cliffs. She has redpointed 8b+ routes and onsighted 8a routes on various crags around the world.
