RUNNING IN THE BELLUNO PREALPS
Now in its 10th edition in 2024, the Trail del Nevegal has grown steadily, reinventing itself year after year.
Like other events, the TDN was conceived by a small group of friends sitting around drinking a beer, in the spirit of trail running. Already after the first editions, the event began to grow in terms of its organization, thanks to the foundation of the Nevegallika association, and in its appeal. Today, running in the hills around Belluno together with more than 300 participants means tackling one of the most majestic and at the same time demanding challenges in the Alpine environment.
Thanks also to the assistance of more than 50 volunteers engaged along the route, the Trail del Nevegal has become much more than the first event on the fall calendar of races for mountain running enthusiasts.
It’s a decidedly technical route, where the fans’ passionate cheering pushes the runners on the three climbs, and the rapid descents make the competition faster. In addition to the possibility of running on the trails with views of the Valbelluna together with the specialists (several top Italian trail runners have followed one another on the winners’ list), there’s the beauty of the places and the rifugios along the route, right where we cultivated our passion for trail running and developed our first collections. Since the first edition, we’ve been proud technical partners of the TDN, where our dreams began and where we continue to nurture them.
THE ROUTES
DUALLIKA & VERTICAL COCA
The scenery of the Belluno Prealps provides the backdrop for two additional events. The Duallika is the new duathlon in May in which athletes and enthusiasts, individually or in pairs, first tackle the climb from Castion to Piazzale del Nevegal (7.3 km and 590 meters of elevation gain) on their road bikes, and then run on some short sections of the Nevegal trail (5.5 km and 390 meters of elevation gain). The nighttime Vertical Coca skimo race (2,3 km. and 580 meters of elevation gain), held in early March, is where participants battle it out under the light of the sunset on the Coco ski run, up to the final wall and the finish at the Brigata Alpina Cadore. A double challenge to test your preparation and sample the trails before the main event.
