Denis Trento, athlete and mountain guide at the army sports center in Courmayeur, has left his mark on the history of Italian ski mountaineering racing. Born in 1982, he boasts major titles that give luster to his palmarès, especially the victory in the Trofeo Mezzalama in 2009 together with Matthew Eydallin and Manfred Reichegger, and, again partnered with Eydallin, wearing the rainbow jersey of ski mountaineering world champion in 2011. In recent seasons the athlete from Val d’Aosta has always raced with the national ski mountaineering team, but with his certification as a mountain guide his goals are shifting more and more toward a mountain to conquer and to discover.
